I've played the MW182 and I own the Yamaha YFB621(S) and I would have to say that the Yamaha has a bit more presence than the MW. I've played it with my quintet and in the symphony without any problems. The Yamaha won over all the others because of the low register. It is wide open and when you press down the 4th valve you would swear that you are playing a CC tuba. I was tired of all the other F tubas where you would have to pray that the part never went below a Db because they become so unfocused down there. It was such a pleasure to find a horn that you would enjoy playing in the low register. Don't sell the 822 or the Willsons short (or the Miraphone 181) - they have a lot to offer in the low register as well, but they weren't around when I found this one.

Just my observations.

Roger
