I have a Willson 3/4 sized BBb tuba that seems to have pitch problems common to 3/4 horns; the pitch goes sharp ub the upper part of the register and flat and the lower part. This horn is a compensating (3 valve) model. This is ok for the type of playing I do with it (German Band, X-Mas carols, etc.), except for 1 pitch in particular - the Eb in the staff. It is horribly sharp (close to 50 cents sharp), and can only be corrected with some major slide pulling, which is difficult on a student model upright tuba. The F in the staff is sharp to, but is livable. Does anyone have any ideas or alternate figering ideas to get this pitch down to within even the 20 cent ballpark????
