I think the unofficial name for them is Megatucci. I have a 50+ and I used to own a standard 50. They are both very good. Remember that prices can sometimes be negotiable. I cannot give a solid comparison between the two because I used the 50 on my CC which I no longer own either the horn or the mouthpiece but I do remember trying the 50 on my Willson Eb and it did work but there were acouple notes that did not sound as good as I would like. I use the 50+ on my Willson Eb and it works great without the problems I had with the 50. I cannot say that it is all the difference between the two or just that I have been on an Eb tuba longer but I really like the 50+.
Sorry to stay from the subject of your reply Rick. I just thought I would throw out the Megatucci as my vote for the name. I have heard of them called that before.
