Hey! Don't get too much enthusiasm going for Eb tubas! I really enjoy the fact that they are not very popular... it makes the prices of used horns very much to my liking. I play Eb for everything. I've got 'em in just about every configuration... bell front & front piston valves, bell up and top pistons, BIG sousa (Conn 4 valve 28k), little sousa (Reynolds), helicon, little Cuesnon upright with top pistons, BIG King upright with top pistons, BIG Conn upright with top pistons, and a couple of parts horns. I had a raincatcher but it was BBb so I traded it off. Eb is great for church gigs, Dixieland, German stuff, community band, civil war reinactment bands, Shrine brass band, ... EVERYTHING!
