1/ I own a euphonium almost completely identical to the one pictured. It is "high-pitch" (as I bet the one in the picture is also) and I'll convert mine to "A=440" soon with a longer mouthpipe.
2/ Thayers are too big, too heavy, too leaky, and too slow. One wouldn't be able to fit them properly on to a euphonium to even get the slide lengths correct, since the Thayer valves take up so much length by their own design.
