I have a HB21. I bought it used about 6 years ago. I love it. I don't feel limited in large ensemble situations and I can get away with using it in quintets (and I often do) rather than my f tuba.
The Hirsbrunners have great response. However, they do play a bit differently from other tubas. You don't have to fight with a HB. In fact, I have to constantly remind myself to really relax and drive this tuba like it is a Rolls Royce.
I don't plan to sell mine unless I were to just stop playing tuba completely. I think it is the perfect all round multipurpose tuba.
