What Rick said is well stated! Girls of that age (and younger as well as older) often develop crushes and behave in a silly manner. If there isn't anything inappropriate going on, and it is reported, the band director will probably be fired or asked to resign with or without evidence. Because of the laws designed to protect students, TEACHERS are legally required to report suspected child abuse. If teachers are witnessing what they suspect could be child abuse (a relationship of this nature fits the description) they are already LEGALLY OBLIGATED to report it. If I were this kid, I wouldn't stick my neck out on something that could possibly just be a misinterpretation of events, mannerisms, etc.
