Exactly. The old, large Alexanders used to come with a mouthpiece that was really shallow, but very wide across the front end--really big diameter on those. At first I thought--"what a piece of garbage", but then realized what the purpose was for that type mouthpiece--and amazingly enough, the pitch was usually right on with those Alex's and that type mouthpiece. guess those designers did know what they were doing!
