The bell down to the first joint below the collar (at the bottom of the horn) is an old King helicon bell. It has the old King engraving with "made by the H. N. White Co." label. The rest of the horn is definitely newer. The brass has a different color and texture and the valves are beautiful. The mating of the two pieces is excellent and unless you look really closely you really can't notice it. Actually it probalby plays better than it would if it were all the same old horn. It could be a Conn body too but I am not sure. The serial number for a con would date it to the 20's too and I just don't think it is that old. I need to look up olds serial numbers and see where that falls. the serial number is 108XXX.
