I had the pleasure of hearing the Boston Symphony last night in Carnegie Hall. It was a nice program featuring music of Debussy, Franck and Wagner. The main attractions were Wagner's Prelude to Act I of Parsifal & the Tristan Prelude and Debussy's La Mer. To my ears the Tristan stole the show, although everything was good.

I had not heard the orchestra play in many years and was really impressed with the warmth of sound coming from the orchestra. It was my first chance to hear Mike Roylance play as well and he sounded just fantastic. He had a huge sound with lots of color in it too. From where I was it looked like he might be playing a NIrschl, but I may be wrong. Very inspirational playing from Mike and the entire orchestra.

Bravo Mike!
