I've used a 186 for over thirty years, but must say that the strap is the key to using this horn. I use a Bluenote strap attached at the bottom ring and the upper left side of the horn; this way i can play the horn with one hand, freeing the left for tuning if necessary. The support is great and absolutely no shoulder pain, even after a four-hour gig.
