What's wrong with your Schilke 52E2? Why do you want to switch? How long have you been playing?

Your first step is to read this. Although it is written for trumpet players, it also pertains to any brass instrument.

If you are taking lessons, ask your teacher to help you out. A place like Brasswinds is handy, because you can order a few different mouthpieces to try out at a time.

Don't just pick one because someone else sounds good on it. Everyone is different.

I also own a 2950. Because I double on bass trombone and tuba, I use a Doug Elliott. That way I can use my same rim as my bass trombones. Doug's number is LB-112-I8. It works great for me. But thats just me.

If you're changing just for the sake of changing, don't! And remember, it takes awhile to get accustomed to a new mouthpiece. There is no perfect over the counter cure-all. It just takes many long hours of practice.

Good luck,
