I couldn't agree more, the conductor has the last word. However, there has to be some give and take; a conductor needs to listen to the musicians and be able to defend his interpretations. But at the dress rehearsal, 1 hr. before the performance, I did not feel like arguing my point and let it pass. And yes, I felt much better about it after a single malt.
