I've tried the vacuum cleaner belts and the "O" rings and they tend to
bounce 'way too much. Go to the local shoe store and purchase a heel replacement
for a pair of dress shoes and cut the stoppers from this. It's still quiet
but it won't rebound as much as the softer materials which will cut down on
the "popping" noises and such.
