I have an Alex CC and an Alex F, and I love them both. My F has only a couple of notes that I must pull slides or use alternate fingerings for. On my CC, I have to adjust quite a bit, but the SOUND is definitely worth the extra effort. If you love the Alex sound, then moving slides and using alternate fingerings shouldn't even be an issue. If you are looking to buy an Alex, find out if it was originally bought at the factory in Mainz. The intonation on those is usually much better than the ones shipped to Giardinelli's in New York. The ones shipped were usually built by Gerhart (sp?) Alexander's apprentices, and less consistent. Good luck!
