I had the pleasure of attending the Navy School of Music (I was in the Army) at the same time as Kabin ('89). Kabin was always in the practice room and was one of the hardest working students there. I'm sure he doesn't demand anything less from his students. I had the opportunity to sit next to him in the faculty concert band - they used a few select students to complete the instrumentation. Kabin was/is a better musician than many of the faculty there. When you get a chance, ask him how much he enjoyed doubling on string bass :-).
