I just started going to a church that had a 15-20 yr old Mirafone 186 sitting in their closet. When they found out I played, they wanted me to look at it. The valves are good and it is in pretty decent shape, but the nickel silver bell wreath is loose in several spots and can buzz. I know it can be removed, but they might not want me to do that. I don't want to fill up the gaps with solder, because I would probably have to put so much solder in there it would probably change the response of the horn. Anyone have an idea of a quick fix I could use on it? I am almost tempted to put small plastic clamps (used for gluing wood, like clothespins only stronger) on it, but that would be ugly as sin. Pun intended. Any ideas?
