If you're in England or you have a kid that might play trumpet, the choice is obvious: Treble. Otherwise, Bass cleff. The advantage of bass clef is that they can double trombone parts if no baritone part is written. They can also play the base and tenor lines in their churches (as common appreciative audience for youth players). Also easier to move down to or share music with Tuba.
