I was supposed to be a member of the Sydney 2000 Marching Band, but they "uninvited" the Americans because there was an outcry about foreigners in the ceremonies (there was a big controversy about this). Eventually (after a lawsuit) they "reinvited" us, but my band turned the offer down. Our show is awesome this year and I don't regret the way it worked out at all.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the opening ceremonies (I had football game :), and my VCR decided to not do as it was told) I heard it was a great show, congrats to all the band members on a job very well done!
