I am sure Matt Walters will see this post and tell you all about it. That particular horn is the prototype of the 2165 before the Deck model. Ronnie was right it did tour Japan for a play testing a while back. And he is also right when he said it was based off of a Holton. Actually the Holton it was based of is the one that Dale Phelps(a regular poster on here) now owns if I am not mistaking atleast thats how I got the story from the original owner of that Holton. Don Little borrowed this tuba from the owner and while subbing in Germany had MW do a cosmetic overhaul on it and in return they took measurements of it for the original 2165(prior to the Deck model). It is a nice horn indeed. Many are scared off because of the lack of a fifth valve. Some tuba are just better off with out them.

Cheers (_)?
