My first instinctual reaction to your question was to "poo-poo" the 2950. I personally did not like it when I played it. I found it to be TOO big. I am very happy with my 2900, albeit only a hair smaller. Although, I will hesitate in criticizing the 2950 more than I have because chosing a euphonium is like (if you'll pardon my grossly understated analogy) a pair of pants. What fits you and your playing style? Can you get all the sound colors on the instrument that you would like? Does it blow freely and unrestricted? And, quite simply, how does it feel? Picking an insturment is a very personal process. Although those of us who have opinions on the matter can share them, I believe that the decision is left solely to you. Don't look to other people to make your decision. If it doesn't play the way YOU would like it to play, put it down and keep looking. Good Luck.
