Last night I had the chance to use my new MW 45SLP for the first time in an ensemble situation(BQ). I bought this horn from Dillon music back in July and had it flown over to Japan. I spent much much time in the practice room alone with it before I took it out for regular use. I was using an Eb before the F so needed to get the fingers and feel down.
Well I was VERY VERY pleased to say the least. I think I have found the perfect F and quintet horn for me. This was the first time I had played with these guys in a BQ setting and they loved it. They have only heard me on my Holton. The MW just sings up top and down below as well. Great response! I was very fortunate I think to get one with such SUPERB intonation.
If you have been interested in these tubas then don't hesitate, give one a blow. It is worth the trip and time. And you can not beat the price either.
