Any time you have a metal on metal moving connection you will have friction. Over time this will result in wear. Lubricant will greatly reduce the wear, though it will occur even so. Suggest you regularly (once a week) oil the top and bottom bearings on each rotor (3 in one or similar oil heavier than regular valve oil). As I understand, the inside of the rotors themselves do not actually touch the surface on the casing (as do valves), so the necessity of oil there is subject to opinion. Particles (chunks of food and such) can much easier stick to bare brass than brass coated with oil, so for that reason alone I like to keep my horns well oiled (told it will help reduce the dreaded "red-rot" as well).
