The horn (a '70's model) had extremely centered pitch, and did not allow a lot of lipping up and down. Using slide pulling did well enough on C and B, put I had to use 2&3 for Db and 3 for D to get them in tune. Using 4 for C made the note much stuffier. Intonation throughout the rest of the range of the instrument was just about perfect.
