Not all players gain a huge benefit from play-testing lots of tubas before making a selection. In many cases, the advice from a trustworthy professional is worth much more. This is especially true for schoolkids and their parents. I'm going against the conventional wisdom--hence the willingness to follow the wandering muse to make the point in a little different way.
Of course, I type at 80-90 words a minute--still slower than the words come to me--and, as you can tell, never proofread. So, long, yes, but only time-consuming to the reader, heh, heh.
