Thanks for the information. Whenever I play with the band, the combined book looks more like a string bass book. I would assume that I am not looking at originals as much as a move to all string bass. This might be due to the low number of tuba/upright doublers in the market. I end up using whatever part is in the book and letting the leader decide which instrument to use.
