On par, yes the Willson is worth the extra cash, figuring if I did own one I probably wouldn't have to replace it for any reason other than age/damage, however with the Yamaha, I don't think I would be satisfied, therefore I would still be on the lookout and end up getting hit with the difference in depreciation on the yamaha. I think both are a little big for an F, but as a "do-all" bass tuba, the Willson is almost worth the pricetag. If you can find one used jump on it. Also, if you see a Kurath-Perantucci piston valve F for sale (very rarely) this is the same exact horn. Unfortunately, these horns, like good B&S F's, don't go up for sale often, but it does say something for their quality.
