If you don't have a digital camera you can take regular photos to most photo stores and they can scan them onto a disk for you. They often have Kodak Kiosks that make this very easy even if you have never done it before. Then you can attach the files to an email to Chuck, if you don't have somewhere to post them online.

Until you can get some photos, some additional information would help identify this instrument. First, are you certain that it is a Bb? I have a York catalog from 1939 that lists their smallest Bb tuba as being 37.5" tall. The only tubas close to 30" tall are Eb. This could be a "Monster" Eb tuba at the size you mentioned. Also, are the valves in the front or on the top? York made both "side action" and "top action" tubas. In general the side action are worth more, but what really matters is how it plays.

You should be very happy with the price that you paid. Any older York tuba in playable condition should be worth at least $1000, even for an Eb. Even if you put $1000 into repairs on it, you will not have paid too much.
