I once used a Steward Stand. My BBb tuba at the time had to rest on the chair for me (at six feet) to reach the mouthpiece, but the edge of the chair wasn't always grippy enough or far enough away from the intermediate interferences that plaqued me at the time. The Stewart Stand pushed the horn out a critical few inches, leaving room for whatever is in the way. But it also makes it difficult to case the horn, and it isn't as adjustible as it needs to be to accommodate all the still plastic chairs we are subjected to in various settings. I now use a DEG Tuba Rest, and it is a much, much better solution to the problem.
