That "Lignatone" was a salesbrand for the Czech conglomerate, now named Amati-Denak, has long been aware to me.

But my original question went in the direction to create light about my suspicion, that the "Lignatone" signature was mostly directed towards the North European market.

Bill Bakers posting has in a qualified way proved my suspicion wrong. And that was, what I was out after.

I might dig a bit deaper:

I have had clues, that even a main US maker has had different product/marketing strategies towards the Californian and the US East Coast pro brass market, more specifically its horn segment.

As I read the situation the St. Pete is mostly an East-South phenomenon. I would be interested in knowing whether a "stencil"-signature like the "Lignatone" also was a regional phenomenon in the US.
