I am actually going to answer you question about auditions in a helpful manner.

I too got the letter of rejection and have decided not to attend. I called and the audition coordinator and she told me that thay had a limited time for the auditions and were already into day two. If I showed up on the day of the audition I would have to be "squeezed in". That gives me one disadvantage already; the judges are upset. I would be too if I had to stay listening to sixty MORE people in addition to the sixty I had already heard. After a talk with my private teacher we decided it would be best to not attend. It could bring more discouragement than encouragement. If you choose to not attend, don't fear! San Fransisco is on the horizon. In a few more years, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, and Atlanta. Not to mention if any of the winners of these auditions already have jobs, those will open up. Good time to be a tuba player. Good luck!

ps. Anyone who attended both Savannah and Colorado, kudos to you!
