Boosey maintains an online serial number list--just go to "Tips and More" under Besson and you'll find it. Your instrument was manufactured in 1968.
Is it worth $700? That depends on a few factors. What kind of condition is it in (dents, valves, etc.)? Is it the compensating model or the non-compensating model? If in good condition, $700 for the compensating model is a good price. Otherwise, $700 is just so-so for the non-comp model.
Most important is how you like it. A couple of hundred dollars stretched over years isn't going to make a huge difference to you if you really like the instrument.
