His tuba does not have a 5th valve. In my post below I made reference to the G-50, but added that to try the G-50 style conversion, he would have to 1. Have and 5th valve and 2. Know that it was a whole step. Since he does not, I suggested that the extra length of tubing...about 2 feet would have to be added to the main tuning slide to make the horn play down from CC to BBb always.
Oh by the way, why is the leadpipe length important? Isn't that factored in when we say there is a 2 foot tube length difference between a BBb and a CC?
