Hello.
I have a student who owns a Hirsbrunner euphonium. When we move a boatload of air through the low register at a fairly substantial dynamic, we are getting a really buzzy sound that seems to eminate from the bell. When we play really big in the mid-register, no buzz.
I used to seem to have this problem on my Alex, and I never rerally knew waht caused it. When it happened, I'd just pinch around the garland, and the sound would go away. When we are playing this euphonium and one of us holds onto the bell, the rattle stops.
What is causing this buzz and is it an easy fix?
