Here's an alternative for folks who are either less adventurous or who just don't want to spend hours lugging equipment anround and playing with level settings. Look in the Yellow Pages under "Recording Services-Audio and Video." Most recording studios will provide this service. The going rate around here (central Ohio) is $35. I've had a local studio do a couple for me and have been very happy with the results.
