The 155 I have is the SWEETEST sounding F tuba I have ever played. It is a small F tube, not like any of the large F's currently in vogue. Is is an excellent solo, or orchestral solo F tuba. If you want an F tuba to sound like a CC playing up high, this is NOT the tuba for you. It has a light, rich sound that is unlike any F out there. Don't get me wrong, if you want to play Bydlo on it, there is PLENTY of sound to get to the back of the hall, but it is a different quality than the large heavier F's. Playing-wise it is pretty even up and down. Like all F tubas in this configuration, the loy Db. C and B take a little getting used to, they dont slot in like on the larger F's. But once you spend some time with it, they are fine.
