I'm not sure what Joe means, but I can tell you that you can find used 601's and piggy's on ebay for a very good price. 601's regularly go for less than $2500, and I have seen at least one piggy go for $1435. these horns are much better than most people think, and I have always played them by choice, not because I could not get anything else. Most are good, few are bad, and some are great. e-mail me privately and we can disscuss the pros and cons of all of the different models, and ways to fix them up to really make a good tuba into a great one. My piggy used to be just average, but over the years I have sone several things to it that have improved it greatly.
