I recently purchased a Willson 2900. I bought this one because of the fact that it's more "soloistic-sounding" and not so tuba-like as the 2950. In my opinion, the 2950 is just too big. I know of someone that has a 2950 and didn't know he had a 2950 until just recently after already owning the horn for a few years, and he found that to him, the 2900 had less intonation problems and everything was just more free-blowing on the 2900. Make your own choice. Try out a few of each if possible if you're that undecided about the instrument. If you buy a new 2900, MAKE SURE that the screws that hold the valve guides in place are stainless steel, not plated. Mine rusted, and it was a problem back at the factory. I don't know if they had that problem with the 2950's or not. If it is a problem, I'm sure they'll be happy to replace the screws. Good luck.

Heather
