I have a Brazilian piece from the 1940s that is written nominally for tuba and alto sax, but it looks more like a euphonium part. It stays pretty high, but does require a good low E-flat (just below the staff). I don't remember the composer offhand, but it is a Sonata Lunaire, which I believe means that it is to be performed outdoors in moonlight. It's just the two instruments, with no other accompaniment. I can dig it out if you like.
