Please pardon my apparent cycnicism... I really do think we are at a point right now where real improvement is about to happen in our schools. As terrible as standardized testing may seem to many of us, we are finally trying to make educational decisions based on data. Initially standardized test will be(and are being) used to find weaknesses in schools. This information, unfortunately, will be of more political value than educational. Soon, hopefully, these tests will be used to guide intruction rather than measure it.
Again, please forgive me if my tone seems negative. I will now go and repent with 3 hours of long tones... maybe then I can earn a tuba signing bonus.
