I know for a fact that Ed Diefes, whom I admire much as a player, plays this on his Alex F. I honestly think that this is harder than anything that we as tuba players play, simply because of the lack of warm-up time available if we are going to play this on an F tuba. I know that I can play the excerpt fine if I've had ample time to warm up and make sure that I'm ready to go. However, if I ever get a chance to play this in an orchestral setting, I would definately be worried. To me, I don't care if someone played it on a "Brand New Silver Euphonium Tuba" from E-Bay. As long as it sounds good as everytime I've heard either live or on a CD. Just one person's opinion.

Sincerely,
