I just got back from performing in the Nice, France, International Military Band Tattoo. There was a band there from France (I think it was their premier military band) and some of the guys were playing on what looked like a cross between an English baritone and an upright Euphonium, but it had 5 piston valves (3 + 2). I didn't get the chance to ask the bandsmen what type of horns they had, but figured since Cortouis is popular in that country that it must be of that make. Any takers? My first guess would've been a French C tuba..... Thanks for reading!
