Having played vintage Conn and King, and Couesnon valve trombones, plus new Yamaha and not-as-rewarding Blessing, Jupiter, I think the old California F.E. OLDS (regular/relatively small bore) valve trombone might be the best one I've ever played.
From time-to-time, I've seen them offered on auctions. For me, I luckily already have one.
