Question to repair experts

I just bought a 6/4 (4 rotary) German BAT from an estate - a huge tuba in excellent overhauled condition. However, the former owner made some soldering in various very narrow gaps between the valve tubes and medium to bigger branches, either to reinforce (which I think was not necessary to do) or maybe - in case of very tight gaps - to prevent vibration noise.
My questions to you specialist guys: Does that "after market" non-O.E.M. soldering possibly have some (negative) impact on the sound? I saw it quite often on other tubas as well. What is the usual reason to do it?
If you recommend to remove it, it would be a pity for the almost brand new lacquer, or do you think there would not be any difference to hear with or without those extra connections.
Your points of view and advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Cheers, Volker
