It is my understanding that weril makes copies of other instruments, with a few changes. I have played the small 4 valve BBb and CC tubas, the large 4 valve BBb tuba, and the euphonium. They apparently use the good ideas of other instruments and make a less expensive alterenative.
The tubas and euphoniums are almost copies of yamaha instruments. The largest cosmetic differences are usually in a little different wrapping, and valve attachments, such as caps and buttons.
The bass trombone, which I have seen but not played, looks like a bach copy.
I don't know about weril making stencils for other companies.
