Perhaps the discussion should be moved away from Warren Deck and over to the tuba position in the New York Phil. The question could be better stated "what is the NYPO doing about the tuba position in the orchestra? Will they be holding auditions, using subs, etc.?" Any discussion on Mr. Deck seems to be a very sensitive subject on the BBS and I agree that there should be no speculation and rumors made on anyone. However, the tuba position in the NYPO is one of (if not the) top tuba spot in the world and tuba players will want to know what the symphony will be doing. Maybe in the future we can address our questions towards the position in question and not the man.
