You really need to check out the Vienna recording of 8 with Boulez conducting. It is recorded in the St. Florian Cathedral at Linz where Bruckner used to perform on the organ over a century ago. His sarcophogus is also contained beneath the floor and the organ. It is a sublime recording, the tempos are a bit on the slow side but only tin-eared string players seem to mind.......
