Some of the Baptist Hymnals published by the Nashville groups, such as Convention Press, are written with band arrangements that parallel the singing hymnal. These band part books usually include the individual hymns in 3 parts for each instrument. 1 part is the melody, and 1 or 2 harmony/bass line parts.

I agree with the organ as being the usually best accombanying instrument, even though I like unaccompanied works. Oddly enough, I played a bass trombopne solo this last Sunday in church, and did half and half. 1st verse unaccompanied, and second verse with organ.

Either way, If God is in it, it can't be wrong.
