I forgot something on this one. Conn marketed a Model 36A cornet in the 1940s with stainless steel valves - "Crysteel" - as I remember it. Conn also was using hydraulic-press forming mandrels in 1934 - YEARS before other manufacturers did.

Nothing new but the history you haven't read yet.
