Most of us know who RA is, and while he does like a good debate (as do I) I can assure you that in his life he has put into action exactly the principles he describes. He is an accomplished player who has won his share of auditions, supported himself as a playing pro, taught at a University, and, when the time came for one of his progeny to pursue a career as a musician, packed them off to a "trade school". So yes, he likes to stir up controversy from time to time; but he's 100% serious about this.
